Interior Designer: Eddie Lee
The SoHo penthouse represents a rare New York ideal—defined by volume, light, and
exclusivity. With soaring 14-foot ceilings, the residence offers an expansive canvas
for living and collecting, elevating it far beyond the typical city home.
Lighting is conceived first and foremost as a framework for art. An extensive,
carefully curated collection is illuminated with precision, each piece subtly framed
so it appears to glow from within, as though lit from behind. The architecture and
ceilings recede into quiet darkness, defined by low-glare illumination that never
competes for attention. Upon entering the home, the eye is drawn instinctively to
the artwork, while every other element falls deliberately silent.
Throughout the residence, dark and moody interiors conceal the sources of light
entirely, allowing illumination to emerge only where it is needed. Vertical surfaces
become the primary points of expression, creating a gallery-like atmosphere that
is immersive, intimate, and unmistakably sophisticated. The result is a penthouse
where art leads the experience—and light exists solely to serve it.
