Lighting design for this alpine chalet focused on enhancing the warmth, intimacy, and architectural character of the mountain retreat. EMY developed a layered lighting approach combining soft ambient illumination, concealed architectural lighting, and precise accent lighting to highlight natural materials such as wood, stone, and textured plaster. Warm color temperatures and carefully controlled contrasts were used to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere throughout the living spaces while maintaining clarity and visual comfort in functional areas such as the kitchen and bathrooms. Indirect lighting was integrated within architectural details to reinforce the chalet’s calm, refined aesthetic while preserving the serenity of the alpine surroundings. The result is a warm, immersive environment that balances comfort and sophistication, supporting moments of relaxation, gathering, and quiet connection with the surrounding landscape.
